The ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition course is designed for

  • Practitioners with significant experience in IT service management who also have 17 points or more on the ITIL V3 scheme
  • Those holding ITIL expert, even if achieved via the previous bridge exam
Scenario 1: I am ITIL v3 Foundation certified and have obtained two or more ITIL v3 Intermediate level certifications.

Recommendation:
Contact ALC Customer Service to discuss whether it is best to continue with more ITIL v3 Intermediate modules to obtain at least 17 credits (including v3 Foundation), to be eligible to attend the transition module Managing Professional Transition.

Scenario 2: I am v3 ITIL Expert.

Recommendation:
Take the ITIL Managing Professional Transition module to achieve the ITIL® Managing Professional designation.
After achieving the ITIL Managing Professional designation, if you are interested in pursuing the ITIL® Strategic Leader designation, you would only need to complete the ITIL Leader Digital & IT Strategy module.  Once you have completed both streams, you are eligible to move towards ITIL® Master.

Scenario 3: I hold 17 v3 credits but have not completed Managing Across the Lifecycle to attain v3 ITIL Expert.

Recommendation:
Take the ITIL Managing Professional Transition module to achieve the ITIL® Managing Professional designation. The requirement is only 17 v3 credits and does not require the full ITIL® Expert designation.
After achieving the ITIL Managing Professional designation, if you are interested in pursuing the ITIL® Strategic Leader designation, you would only need to complete the ITIL Leader Digital & IT Strategy module. Once you have completed both streams, you are eligible to move towards ITIL® Master.
